THE DEFINITION OF GOD
GOD IS ALL POWERFUL
Go to beginning of section

God is all powerful. He is larger and greater than the universe that He created. In the book of Revelation, we read:

“And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” (Revelation 19:6)

The word “omnipotent” comes from the Greek word: “pantokrator,” which means, “one who has sway over all things.” The one who created the universe is greater than the universe. He has all power at His command. According to the Bible and Jewish thought, this power of God emanates from heaven, from His “Right Hand.” When God “breathes” the power of His Spiritual essence from heaven into this universe, He calls it His “Holy Spirit.”
